In 2012 chef Mick Hobson set out to share his passion for quality food and ingredients with the people of Brisbane. Goat meat is one of his favourite ingredients and while it is growing in popularity, Australian’s have taken some time to recognise the delicate quality and taste of the meat. The Goat Pie Guy was created as a way for Mick to showcase the finest quality Australian Boer goat meat for discerning foodies to enjoy. This breed of meat goat delivers a delicate but distinctive flavour with big, tender, melt in your mouth pieces of leg and shoulder meat. He develops beautiful recipes for pie fillings drawing inspiration from around the world to complement the tender goat meat. All of our meat is sourced from Booma Boer Goats – Premium Goat Meat in Dorrigo, New South Wales. The lush environment of the region (and some clever preparation by our farmers!) helps to sustain the pastures even during the colder months to promote year-round breeding to bring you our gourmet Goat Pie range week in-week out.
All of our delicious Goat Pies are hand-made in our Gourmet Kitchen at Shop 1/97 Braun Street, Deagon QLD and we are open to the public Tuesday to Sunday. We also attend Jan Powers Markets in Brisbane, check our Markets & Events page for full details and trading hours.
